Rachael Weiss

Rachael Weiss worked as a secretary before finding her voice and getting her first book published. She currently lives in Prague where she is technically the in-house writer for a hotel but, since the only thing she has to write is the website and occasional stiff letters to defaulting customers, in reality she’s the odd-jobs girl. She supplements her income by writing horoscopes for a series of obscure suburban and specialist papers and thus feels justified in describing herself as a syndicated columnist. Rachael’s greatest achievement to date is a fourth place in the New South Wales Scrabble tournament. One day she hopes to play Czech Scrabble. She is the author of Are We There Yet (Allen & Unwin, 2005) and Me, Myself & Prague (Allen & Unwin, 2008) and is currently working on her third book.

Dobre Rano Rozhovor 25.5.2008

Check this out - I've been interviewed on Czech television. Woo hoo! It was on channel CT1 on their morning program, Dobre Rano, which is the Czech equivalent of Good Morning, Australia. It was a bizarre experience, mainly in that it happened very quickly. They shoved me into the studio and the next thing you know, someone is sitting opposite me asking me questions. If you look at the beginning, you can see the moment when I thought "It's started? You mean I'm live on national television now? Hmmm. Better think of something interesting to say."
